Privacy Policy
Version 1.2
October 15 2025
1. Introduction
Seller Ascent (“Seller Ascent,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our websites, apps, and related services (the “Services”), including information accessed from Amazon via the Selling Partner API (“SP-API”).
We are an independent platform and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Amazon Information (with authorization).
If you connect your Amazon account, we may access the following Amazon Brand Analytics datasets via SP-API only for the seller account(s) you authorize: Search Query Performance, Market Basket Analysis, Item Comparison & Alternate Purchase Behavior, and Brand Share (collectively, “Amazon Information”). We access only the scopes you grant and only as needed to provide the features you select.
2.2 Account Information.
Name, business email, company details, role, and billing information (e.g., address, tax/VAT, last-4 payment info via our processor).
2.3 Usage Data.
Log files, device and browser metadata, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with features, collected via our applications and standard analytics.
2.4 Support & Communications.
Content of messages you send us (e.g., chat, email, support tickets) and related metadata.
2.5 Cookies & Similar Technologies.
We use cookies and similar tools for authentication, session management, analytics, and feature performance. You can manage cookies in your browser; some features may not function without essential cookies.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide dashboards, analytics, reporting, and automations for the authorizing seller’s account only;
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
Provide customer support and communicate about updates, security, and billing;
Enforce our Terms, prevent fraud/abuse, and ensure policy compliance (including Amazon’s);
Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting obligations.
No Resale or Cross-Seller Aggregation. We do not aggregate or combine Amazon Information across unrelated sellers (AUP 4.4). We do not publish insights about Amazon’s business (AUP 4.5). We do not sell or license Amazon Information to third parties for their own purposes.
4. Legal Bases (where applicable)
Depending on jurisdiction, our processing relies on one or more of: (i) performance of a contract (providing the Services you requested); (ii) legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the Services); (iii) consent (where required, such as marketing emails or specific cookies); and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Data Sharing
We do not disclose Amazon Information to third parties for their independent use. We share limited data only with trusted subprocessors as necessary to operate the Services under written agreements that require confidentiality and security at least at Amazon’s required standards:
Hosting & Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS) – secure compute, storage, backups.
Monitoring & Logging: Datadog; Sentry – performance telemetry, error tracking.
Email & Support: Google Workspace; SendGrid; Intercom – communications and support.
Billing: Stripe – subscription and payment processing.
Subprocessors are prohibited from using Amazon Information for their own purposes. Our current subprocessor list may be updated from time to time; material changes will be reflected in our posted policies.
6. Retention & Deletion
We retain Amazon Information only as long as needed to provide the Services you requested, to comply with law, or to resolve disputes.
If we process Amazon Customer PII, it is retained no longer than 30 days after order delivery and then securely and irreversibly deleted in accordance with Amazon’s Data Protection Policy.
If you disconnect your Amazon integration or terminate your account, we cease retrieval and handle stored data per this Policy and our Data Usage & Sharing Policy.
You may revoke Seller Ascent’s SP-API authorization at any time via Amazon Seller Central. Revocation stops future data access; stored data is handled per this section.
7. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including:
Encryption: TLS in transit; AES-256 at rest; key management via cloud KMS.
Access Controls: Role-based access, least privilege, SSO/MFA for internal systems, audit logging.
Secure Development: Code reviews, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and patching.
Monitoring & Response: Continuous monitoring, alerting, backup/restore testing, and incident response procedures.
No security measures are perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continually improve our controls.
8. Your Choices & Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
Access a copy of your personal information;
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information;
Delete information (subject to legal/contractual limits);
Restrict or object to certain processing;
Port your information to another provider;

9. International Transfers
We may process information in the United States and other countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the age defined by local law). If you believe a child provided information, contact us to request deletion.
11. Third-Party Links & Integrations
The Services may link to third-party sites or include integrations (e.g., Amazon). Your use of third-party sites and services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
